Lusikkapaja (Spoon Workshop) is a workshop in which participants can make their own wooden spoons. In most cases the participants have no prior experience in wood carving. The main theme is that anyone can aquire new skills and develop them towards mastery. The workshops are organised in collaboration with the fabulous Finnish lifestyle store World of TRE.
The project is based on a collection of wooden spoons made by myself and Kalle Häkkinen. In the spring of 2017 the results from the workshops were gathered into an art installation for Onoma's Greetings from SUOMI exhibition in Fiskars.
